    TAX COLLECTION GOVERNMENT > TOWN of palmyra > TOWN CLERK > TAX COLLECTION The Palmyra Town Clerk/Tax Collector collects Town and County and Palmyra-Macedon Central School taxes. The Town Clerk does not collect Village of Palmyra taxes; direct all billing payments and inquiries to the Palmyra Village Clerk. TOWN AND COUNTY TAXES The fiscal year for property taxes is from January 1st to December 31st of each year. County, Town and Special District taxes are included in the January Tax Bill. This bill may include unpaid school and village taxes, if they were not paid when they were due. Taxes are due for the Town of Palmyra on or about January 1st of each year and are payable to Town Tax Collector during the months of January, February, and March. SCHEDULE January without penalty or interest February with 1% interest added March with 2% interest added Beginning April 1, all unpaid taxes are turned over to the Wayne County Treasurer's Office to be collected. PALMYRA-MACEDON SCHOOL TAXES School Taxes are collected from September 1st through October 31st payable to Irene Unterborn, Tax Collector at 1180 Canandaigua Rd, Palmyra NY 14522. On November 1st the taxes are returned to the Wayne County Treasurer’s Office for collection with an additional fee of 5%. Please call (315) 946-7441. If the School taxes remain unpaid after the last business day of November these taxes are re-levied onto the January Town and County taxes with additional fees.

    HUNTING/FISHING LICENSES GOVERNMENT > TOWN of palmyra > TOWN CLERK > HUNTING/FISHING LICENSES The Town Clerk’s Office acts as a License Issuing Agent for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). We sell hunting and fishing licenses for residents and non-residents of New York State. Before purchasing a hunting license applicants must provide proof of hunter education and proof of residency. Fishing licenses are valid for one year from the date of purchase/activation. There is no education requirement to obtain a fishing license. HUNTER EDUCATION Proof of hunter education includes EITHER a previous hunting license OR a hunter education certificate. Bow hunters must provide additional proof of bow-hunter education – either a previous bow license or a bow-hunter education certificate. Non-resident hunters should check the DEC website for acceptable forms of proof of hunter education. RESIDENCY The most common types of residency proof include: NYS driver’s license, NYS vehicle registration, NYS non-driver’s ID, student ID, or a parent’s driver’s license for a minor. Additional acceptable forms of proof are shown on the DEC web site. Non-residents may purchase NYS hunting and fishing licenses at an additional charge. They must still provide proof of hunter education before purchasing a hunting license.
